Setup
There are a few settings that should be reviewed and/or changed to ensure your experience with Teamspeak is a positive one. We recommend you follow these steps to avoid confusion while operating Teamspeak. Note: Some of these items may already be selected by default. Simply verify this is the case if so.
-
Ensure that "Toggle for Subscribe Mode" is on "Subscribe All". This toggle appears as a chat window with an eye in the center near the top of the client.
-
Under "Tools", then, "Options", then "myTeamspeak", ensure that you are logged in to your account. Select "Automatic" synchronization.
-
On the same page, create and save a "New Recovery Key". This will allow you to regain control of your account should it otherwise be lost or compromised.
-
Under, "Application", in "Options" menu, select "Reconnect servers when system resumes a standby", as well as, "Warn when talking while microphone is muted".
-
Under, "Playback", in "Options" menu, select your preferred playback/output device, and ensure that "Own client plays mic clicks" is selected.
-
Under, "Capture", in "Options" menu, select your preferred capture/input device, and ensure that "Push to Talk" is enabled. Set up your preferred hotkey.
-
Under, "Design", in "Options" menu, select "Expand all channels on login", "Display country flag on clients", Display badge icons on clients", "Display group icons in context menus".
Joining the Server

-
Under, "Bookmarks", click "Add to Bookmarks".
-
The popup window should automatically populate your information. Click, "Apply", then "Okay".
Note: You will not automatically receive your roles like Discord. A server admin will need to provide you with your roles. Ping the Discord when you have completed this step to receive your roles.
Troubleshooting
It has been reported that there is an error upon first launch in a limited number of cases. The cause of this error is unknown. This error revolves around attempting to log into your account when prompted after starting the client for the first time.
In this situation, your login credentials will not be recognized, and you will not be allowed to continue after selecting, "Continue without Logging In".
Steps to Try -
-
If you have just installed the client and are receiving this error, restart your machine.
-
If the above does not work, conduct a fresh install.
-
Uncheck, "Synchronization", and attempt another login.
-
If the above does not resolve the problem, hit the "X" at the top right of the login bubble.
In the reported case, after conducting steps 1-3, the user reported simply closing out of the bubble allowed them to continue on to connect to the server without further difficulty.
